Doubles Hunt

So yesterday was my last day of "staycation" and I went on an all you can eat doubles hunt. My purpose was to find the best doubles in , of course, Richmond Hill. The shops that I tasted was a little shop on 111 Avenue and Lefferts, D' Original Doubles Man, Anil's Roti Shop, Richie's Roti Shop, Hot and Spicy Roti Shop, and Singh's.
The top three was definitely D' Original Doubles Man, Singh's, and the little shop on 111 Avenue and Lefferts (Cannot remember the name unfortunately, if anyone can remember please comment on it).
Each of these shops had something special about it. First off Singh's fulls your doubles to the brim. They give you alot of chana inside and when you ask for extra sauces, they do noooot hold back.
Now D' Original Doubles Man's doubles was my favorite. Although I felt they could have filled my doubles more, the taste of it was more rich. The double was a darker color and looked sloppy just like back home. Almost like they made it out back and brought it in just like they do in Trinidad.
Lastly the little shop on 111 avenue was pretty good as well. The only issue is that they ran out of sides. I kind of felt like how could a shop selling doubles run out of sides lol.
This week has been an overall joy. For one I discovered how rich Richmond Hill is and had a good taste of my culture. Working all the time I got so use to stopping at Mc Donalds and KFC. Who knew I could find sunday cookin, or back home beach food in my own neighborhood. If anyone is lookin for good culture and good food. Be Smart and come to Richmond Hill.
